Modern motherboards includes sensors which will provide us with some useful information regarding the temperature of CPU or the hard disk.You can view those information in your BIOS settings.But yet there are some softwares which will show some detailed information in this regard.
Speed Fan
The speed fan is a software which provides us with the CPU temperatures and hard disk temperature.Once the software is invoked it will communicate with the sensors and displays us the results.Separate core temperatures are also available.There are also options to adjust the clock speed but its not recommended unless u completely understand the risks involved.For dual core processors the temperature will be in between 40-50 degrees while pentium 4 will go upto to a maximum of 68 degrees.You can also adjust the fan speed.
Everest Home edition
Everest provide us not only the core temperatures but also a lot of information along with that.Everest provides a detailed information regarding motherboards,networks,storage devices,directx version and much more.There are also benchmarks available to compare with.
